Some backdoor software maybe also installed without our permission when we connected to internet connection, so they will installed at windows registry to automatic start when windows xp starting up. That’s why we also have to check the StartupCPL or Hijackthis for monitor the windows startup

I think only check disk and defrag considers as maintenance only. Disable remote should be prevention…hehe

nice tips! i got some to share to, type “msconfig” at search bar then go [services] check the [Hide All Microsoft] then go [startup] uncheck those item that you don want to run for fasten startup =]
